Engineering Inspiration was set up in 2009 and is owned and run by Peter G Sturgess CEng FIMechE.

He started his career at Lucas Girling working with pneumatic (air) brakes, hydraulic brakes, ABS and brake by wire systems before joining Honda R&D, working up to Chassis Group Leader.

Until founding Engineering Inspiration Peter was responsible for braking systems at JCB Excavators, manufacturers of construction machinery, agricultural tractors and military vehicles. As the sole specialist to the worldwide group, he had sign off authority for brake systems on all new machines and acted as consultant to the design groups.

He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He was educated at King Edward VI Grammer School in Retford, Nottinghamshire before graduating from The Hatfield Polytechnic with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also has a Master Degree from Warwick University Manufacturing Group.

Peter has considerable experience of working with component suppliers to develop optimum systems, giving performance and reliability for minimum cost and has undertaken a number of investigations into product failure, several of which have resulted in field service campaigns or recalls.
